"Psst, Look at My Feed" explores the complex interplay between art, digital culture, and audience engagement. Using shimmering sequin panels typically associated with party backdrops, this work juxtaposes traditional still-life imagery with contemporary themes of consumption, both digital and physical.
The primary piece, a pixelated still life of fast food items, plays on the word "feed," referencing the overindulgence in food and the endless consumption of images online. The adjacent text-based panel boldly states “content,” a term that humorously and critically examines the dual meaning of subject matter and the commodification of artistic output in the digital age.
The interactivity mirrors the endless cycle of content creation and consumption on social media, where the artwork becomes not just a critique but a participant in the system it examines. Strategic lighting enhances the reflective quality, casting shimmering light onto the surroundings and immersing viewers in an ephemeral, Instagram-worthy spectacle.
