Spier Light Art (SLA) is the leading light art festival in South Africa, held annually at the historic Spier Wine Farm in Stellenbosch. Since its inception in 2018, the festival has been recognised for its curation and production of artworks by established artists and collectives as well as emerging artists, enabling them to exhibit large-scale light art installations in the expansive yet intimate grounds of the farm.

The festival unleashes artists' creative potential by offering a dynamic platform for artistic experimentation, interdisciplinarity, and cross-cultural exchange. Grounded in local contexts, SLA drives social and economic inclusion by supporting diverse creative practices and promoting critical artistic expression. At the same time, it includes international participation, promoting cultural enrichment and collaboration on a global scale.

Every year, this range of artwork attracts more than 10,000 attendees, offering free access to immersive experiences that allow audiences to engage critically and playfully with diverse artistic expressions in what is considered one of the Western Cape's most unique and celebrated art festivals.
